HOLIDAY COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

What is it?

WVMS students will be involved in meeting the gift wishes of area students who are in foster care. These students in foster care are in temporary placement or they have experienced multiply foster care placements. This is an opportunity for our middle school students to give to other students their same age during this holiday season. The gift wishes are simple and some even include everyday items that most of us take for granted. These children have met with social workers to create their very own wish list. Our goal is to meet the wishes of at least sixty children. 

How will this work and when does it start?

Monday, November 24th and end on Friday, Dec 5th. ;
In our commons area there will be a giant display with each of the children's wishes hanging from the display on a tag.  Our 6th and 7th graders can check out the lists and together with friends or as individual can check out a tag and be responsible to purchase the wish(es).  Once the purchases have been made, they can be returned first thing in the morning to our helpers and the gift will be put into a bag along with the tag.  What an easy way to make a BIG difference.  Please join our WVMS Wolves in helping us help our community.

Schedule:

Monday Nov. 24 th and Tuesday Nov. 25 th- Tag check out during all three lunch periods.

Dec. 1 st to Dec. 5 th- Turn in unwrapped gifts with tag before school in the commons area from 7:30 to 8 am .

Dec. 12 th – Gifts are delivered to DSHS social workers.
