Reading Pyramid
January 27th is the deadline to be a pyramid early finisher!
Students are required to have at least three books read and entered into their reading pyramid each term. For the first term we will be reading two books aloud as a class and learning how to use the reading pyramid, so students are only responsible to read one book on their own. (this is for first term only, for the rest of the year students are required to read at least two books on their own)They will have some time to read and journal in their pyramid on Wednesdays and Fridays and should also be reading for at least 20 minutes every day at home.
Information:
If you are absent on a Monday or Tuesday be sure to read the selection for the week at home.
If you do not yet have a dictionary at home, it would greatly benefit your student to pick one up. A small Webster's paperback dictionary will work just fine. If you are unable to get one I do have a few that have been well loved to give out.
All work turned in must be completed neatly and to the best of your ability. If not, you will get to do it again.
Late Work: Late work will receive a maximum of 70%. Late work will be accepted up to a week before the end of term. Students missing 2-3 assignments (depending on the importance of the assignment) will be assigned to SCP.
Book Orders:
The next book order will be in January. This is a great way to add to your home library at inexpensive prices! You can send your orders to class or place your order on-line. The Parent Online Ordering code is H2QYG.
