I teach math to both 6th and 7th graders. I believe that Math is a very important part of everyday life, so I try to help my students make a connection to what we do in class to their own lives.

HOMEWORK

I do give homework every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Homework practices skills that we have reviewed or learned in class.

Homework is always due the next day.

When students are absent they will have time to make up that missed work. When absent, the easiest way for students to get their missing assignments is when they return to class since most of my homework will be in worksheet form. If you know the absence will be extended, it is a good idea to call the school and make arrangements to pick some work up.

When students do not have their homework to turn in, I ask them to fill out and turn in a homework excuse note. I then type their excuse into the comment area on Skyward. Skyward is the online gradebook. You may check your child's grade anytime you would like.
